Hi! Welcome to the University of Arizona Game Development Club’s official website!
We have no dues and welcome those of all experience levels.
We also welcome those of all vocations and backgrounds; Diversity in experience and perspective is a crucial element to artistic depth.
Hateful speech, racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, or any other assorted nasties are not welcome here.
We strive to be an excellent resource on game design of all kinds, including but not limited to Video Games, TTRPGs, and Board Games.
We want to build a strong community. Game design is rough and multidisciplinary; Solidarity with our fellow designers is crucial to maintaining our sanity and building our skills together.
Meetings of all kinds, unless otherwise specified, are held in Gould Simpson (1040 East 4th Street), room 837, on the 8th floor.
General meetings are the main body of the club. They will feature bespoke presentations and workshops, designed by officers. They will also (occasionally) feature guest speakers.
General meetings are held on Mondays from 6-7 PM.
Dev nights are an informal gathering set aside for people to work on their personal projects in a group setting. They also serve for a few other purposes:
Dev Nights are held on Wednesdays from 6-9 PM.
Game Jams are high-intensity game design competitions in which teams are given a theme and a time limit, usually around 48 hours, to make a game based on that theme.
Game Jams are a cultural staple in game design. We strongly recommend those interested in learning the medium to give one a shot, regardless of previous experience.
We will assist those who want a team in finding one.
Our Game Jams will be held in-person, and will be announced as they come. Expect 1-2 per semester.
